I was raised in the beautiful city of Miami but originally I am from Lima Peru. Growing up I enjoyed reading as much as possible and was an avid tennis player. I have a very tight knit family and upon graduating high school I decided to stay in the area and attended the University of Miami. I of course became a fan of the Hurricanes and graduated with two bachelor’s degrees, one in Economics and one in Neuroscience. As much as I loved South Florida, and my family is here, my husband’s employment had us move to the Midwest.
While living in Indiana I had the pleasure of attending Indiana University School of Medicine for both medical school and residency. I was afforded a wide and vast array of experiences and opportunities during my training at Indiana University as it is the largest medical school in the country. For example, I was part of the research track which allowed me to publish a book chapter in Psychiatric Genetics and a variety of manuscripts. As much as I enjoyed my time in Indiana I felt far away from family and I decided it was time to head back home to South Florida.
When I’m not at work I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and children. We enjoy trying out new cuisine and the many new restaurants the Boca Raton area has to offer. I of course continue to play tennis and love travelling.
My absolute goal as a Psychiatrist is to help patients feel supported while providing treatment and guidance to help improve and make a difference in their lives. I strive to provide individualized care and to tailor treatment plans that work best for each person. I have been described by others as empathetic, hardworking, respectful and open-minded. I look forward to meeting you.
